A primary goal of the foundation is to support and expand innovative programs for current Newport SD students that may otherwise be limited due to the District's budgetary restrictions on core offerings. These programs, big or small, may be selected based on District priorities and/or competitive teacher grants.
Another important goal is to reward the hard work and achievements of our graduates. The foundation plans to develop and offer a scholarship award to senior students graduating from Newport High School.
The PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has approved our foundation as an official Educational Improvement Organization through the Department's Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program. This means we can accept qualifying donations to benefit approved innovative education programs at Newport School District. This initiative is also rewarding to approved businesses as 75-90% of donations are eligible as a tax credit. Please visit DCED's website or contact us to learn more!
Some of these innovative programs the foundation plans to support include: upgrades to the high school tv/media studio, Junior Achievement Biztown, dual enrollment/college in the high school, and internships/co-ops. To learn more about these programs click here!
In order to achieve our goals, we need your help. As a volunteer charitable organization, all proceeds from donations and fundraising go toward supporting the Newport School District students, staff, and community. The foundation is currently planning various events and other fundraising initiatives. Your support is appreciated. Please contact us for information or donate now!
Our organization is an approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit and donations are tax deductible
